Usain Bolt is the fastest man to have ever lived, but he believes Cristiano Ronaldo could now beat him in a 100m race just three years after hanging up his spikes.

Bolt, 34, retired from athletics in 2017 with eight Olympic gold medals, and the world records in both the 100m and 200m disciplines.

But after not competing for a long-time, Bolt has claimed that Manchester United great Ronaldo would have what it takes to beat him in a race.

“For sure Cristiano Ronaldo,” Bolt told Marca, via the Daily Star, when asked which footballer could beat him over his preferred distance.

“He works out every day, he is a super-athlete.

“He is always at the top of his sport. He works very hard and is always focused.

“I think right now he would definitely be faster than me.”

Ronaldo, now 35, remains one of the best footballers in the world and will be immortalised as one of the greatest ever.

His athleticism well into his 30’s is quite incredible and if there was football player who could take on the Jamaican track and field legend, it might just be Ronaldo.

But Bolt is surely being humble here; there are very few people on the planet who could beat him over 100m!

Meanwhile, Ronaldo will not leave Juventus to make a sensational return to Old Trafford, despite reports of the contrary.

According to the Manchester Evening News, United have no interest in bringing the Portuguese superstar back to the club 11 years since he he left for Real Madrid.
